I get it, that some of these tips may on the surface level might seem unrelated to a glow-up. Just hear me out for a moment. Our mental health and physical environment is just important an area to focus on as say our physical appearance. You could even argue that those aspects should be at the center of any glow-up.
You may not choose to implement all of these tips, but believe me, just focusing on one or two can bring you major results.

It may already be a familiar notion that a person’s outer world is a reflection of their inner world. I definitely believe this to be true. Therefore, I recognize that I feel much more clarity when my home is tidy and clutter free. My deepest thoughts don’t seem to be available to me when I have few systems and little to no order in my environment.
That’s why I find it crucial to declutter and organize my space every so often. As a mother, it is important to make the intention to not go overboard with this. In this role, there can already be various tasks that occupy my time and attention. But I find that making the intention to focus on a small area at a time can be the most beneficial way of approaching a decluttering or organizing project.
I always keep a particular area in mind and focus only there for the time being. I do it this way as a means of seeing progress as well as to not add too much to my initial pate. Try decluttering and organizing just a small area in your home or workspace and see how it may bring a renewed sense of clarity to your mind. Clarity of mind is crucial for a glow-up.

Get Quality Rest
Another way to have clarity in your glow-up is to get proper rest. Think for a moment. Someone is having a whole glow-up but never having the energy to enjoy it. The two statements probably seem pretty contradictory, huh? If all this work is going to be put in to better yourself, the recovery time is going to be a crucial step in the process.
Of course, in addition to the mental clarity that lies on the other side of getting quality rest is the benefits for your physical appearance and overall wellbeing. I like to keep in mind that the body does the bulk of its healing and cell regeneration between the hours of 10pm-2am. It’s not always possible but I do my best to get as many healing hours a night as I can. My aim is to be in the bed most weeknights by 10pm.
For some of us, going to bed early can be a really difficult adjustment. However, I like to incentivize myself by knowing that if I go to bed early enough, I’ll more than likely be able to get some alone time in the morning.
Create Routines

Not knowing, what is happening next and what to do when can create stagnancy in the goals we desire to achieve. Having a consistent layout and roadmap can be highly beneficial in helping yourself reach milestones on your journey.
For me, whenever I’ve just had a goal in mind and tried to simply remember to make time to achieve it, I would almost always fail. It wasn’t until I came up with a step -by-step routine that I was able to see any progress.
One particular routine that I like to follow is to go to bed by 10pm during the week. That way, I can wake up early to do some cardio and meditate. Then, I follow up with task pertaining to my household and homeschooling. This eventually leads to starting my kid’s bedtime routine, which then allows me to focus on some personal goals such as this blog and whatever else I may be working on at the moment. That is essentially how my daily routines work. Each routine makes it possible for the next one to be successful.
In order to accomplish some of my heftier task, such as getting this blog up and running, I utilized a system called the 12 Week Year to get my project off the ground. The concept is modeled after an idea that you could use 12 weeks to accomplish what you would typically give yourself a whole year to complete. I won’t go into too much detail here, but this is just another example of a type of system or routine that you could set to achieve your goals. Check out the book here if you are interested.
Take a moment to think about whether you have any solid routines in place. If so, how can they be tweaked to better benefit you and your family? If you don’t currently have any routines in place, consider what you can begin to implement into your day-to-day reach your desired goddess status.
Focus on Fitness
I’ll keep this one short and sweet. And if you’re new to working out, you may want to keep your routines here short and sweet as well. Now, initially it may seem like just another tasks for your to-do list, but once you make this a part of your daily routine, your bound to see major benefits.
Not only is it likely to do wonders for boosting your mood, but it also can contribute to your overall goddess glow-up. After I began working out on the regular, it felt so rewarding to be doing something so good for myself. That is really truly self-care, and it can give you that glow from the inside out.
Upgrade Your Wardrobe

Before you jump to conclusions on this one, I promise it’s not what you think. The last thing that I want to do is encourage going out to spend your money on a new wardrobe. In fact, I believe that purchasing a new wardrobe before fully stepping into a glow-up can be counterproductive.
Believe, there have been times when I thought I was ready to “become a new me” and I bought the new clothes only to find that my mind had not caught up to my new persona. These will be the situations where the clothes will end up wearing you.
That’s why I think it’s most beneficial to first take a peek inside of your closet to weed out the items that are no longer becoming of the person you desire to be. After all, how can you welcome in the new version of yourself when your still attached to the old version?
Finding Your Body Shape
Another thing that I’ve done wrong in the past was simply purchasing new clothing that I thought lookd good. I should have been taking into account my body shape. For the longest, I didn’t know what my body type was and that it would do wonders for my appearance to start dress according to it. If you’ve never considered your body shape and how dressing for it can bring visual appear to your look, then check out this article here.
Still, if you find that much of your wardrobe doesn’t necessarily fit your body shape, don’t up and throw your whole closet away. First, just focus on bringing items to the forefront of your wardrobe that you feel good in. That is the most important focus anyway. Take some time to try on a few items together and find the items that you currently own that are the most flattering and start there.
